The policy landscape scan in Japan highlighted several key areas related to Alzheimer’s disease, including the government’s health priorities, mandates, and current initiatives aimed at managing and treating Alzheimer’s. Our research identified important gaps in the policy environment, such as insufficient funding for Alzheimer’s research and lack of coordinated care across healthcare settings.
Key stakeholders, including medical societies, patient advocacy groups, and policy influencers, were mapped to understand their role in shaping the policy and regulatory environment. Additionally, we analyzed the competitive landscape to understand the strategies and approaches of other pharmaceutical companies operating in the Alzheimer’s disease space in Japan.
Application
Based on these findings, the client now has a comprehensive understanding of the policy environment surrounding Alzheimer’s disease in Japan. The identified gaps present potential areas for the pharmaceutical company to engage in environment-shaping activities, such as advocating for increased research funding, promoting coordinated care initiatives, or collaborating with key stakeholders to influence policy decisions.
